Clicking the LastPass Extension in Firefox Opens a Settings Pop-up Window That Won't Go Away (SOLUTION)

Question

Symptom: After clicking on the LastPass extension, which was already installed in Firefox, no button is at the bottom of the Settings pop-up window. It's not that the button is hard to see, or only partially visible, or you have to scroll down to click it, or you have to zoom out to see it, THERE IS NO VISIBLE BUTTON TO CLICK.

This issue started after the LastPass update was automatically installed about a month ago, late September to early October.

I'm on Microsoft Windows 10 Home, Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045

I'm on Firefox Version 131.0.2

I will not review the dozen or so things I did at first, which did not work, and instead share what did work. I do not sync Firefox to other devices, so your steps might be different from mine. I'm not saying you have to do all the steps below, but I am reporting that I did all the steps below and it fixed this issue.

Backup your Firefox bookmarks to more than one location as a precaution. If you are really paranoid, backup one copy to a USB thumb drive, or other external storage drive.

If you don't know how to do any of the steps below, remember that Google is your friend.

Delete the LastPass extension in Firefox.

Close all open Firefox windows.

For clarity and simplicity, close all open applications.

I've used lastpass through thick and thin; but I guess lastpass is forcing me to try alternatives.

I want to see the whole Pop Up, first!!  I do not want to uninstall Firefox!

When you are comfortable to proceed, click the Refresh Firefox button. A progress bar begins. If the Firefox install progress bar disappears before it finishes, it may be hiding behind another window. Look for an open Firefox icon in the task bar, click the Firefox icon, which brings the progress bar window back to the front.

Wait for the progress bar to finish > open Firefox.

The first thing I noticed was that my Firefox bookmarks were intact. I still recommend backing up bookmarks as a precaution.

Install the LastPass extension via Firefox Settings.

The best resolution available on my Dell laptop is 1366 x 768. At that resolution, I can only see the top of two buttons in the lower right corner of the screen. I cannot even read what the buttons say, but they were not there before the Firefox refresh.

The left button is white, the right button is red. I clicked the top of the red button and the LastPass login screen appeared. I successfully tested logging out and logging in several times with the

Settings pop-up window not appearing, and the LastPass login screen appearing normally each time.

Finally, the Settings pop-up window reappeared once during my testing, but only after I went to Firefox Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > clicked the Clear Data button... > selected Everything > clicked the Clear button. On the next attempt, upon clicking the Last Pass extension the Settings pop-up window appeared with the tops of the two buttons appearing. Clicking the top of the red button again launched the LastPass login window normally. This might be something I have to live with if I always choose to select and delete "Everything".
