Allow Lastpass to fill search type inputs ; autocomplete = "off" => won't work

Hello

One of our online tools recently change their login form.

For some reason they use a type='search' login input.

I think this is for this reason that laspass cannot auto fill the field. only the password filed auto fills.

Site developper answer (in short) : "we don't care"

I saw that I can manually add fields, so I did a F12 on the login screen, took the input field and form name. But it does auto fill the field. Would that work anyway ?

Is there a workaround ?

I'm not sure if you've tried this method already, if you haven't could you try deleting the entry for this site and then adding it back to your Vault using the save all entered data method as below?

Make sure you are logged into your LastPass browser extension.
Go to the website whose login you need to force-save. On the login page, fill in your credentials (username, email address, password, etc) but do not press login.
Click theLastPass browser icon, then go toAdd item>Save All Entered Dataat the bottom of the menu.
Tip:For Internet Explorer users, click the active LastPass icon, then go toTools>Save All Entered Data.
All captured fields are displayed. If desired, enter more information and specify your desired settings for the item. ClickSavewhen finished.
Once saved, when you return to the login page LastPass should fill the data for you. You may need to “force-fill” the login from the LastPass notification bar, or from the LastPass icon by selecting the site name at the bottom of the menu and then clicking “autofill” a few times before LastPass is able to autofill on the site.

Unfortunatly it does not work: the login type_search field is not added (password field is, anyway)

Here is the html code of this field. Maybe the autocomplete="off" is the cause of this.

Thanks for giving that a try. Unfortunately it does seem that due to how the website is coded/designed, LastPass' Autofill is not able to work on the page, and the only option would be for the website owner change how the login fields are coded to allow autofill to work on the page.
