I have had an alert from my bank suspecting that the transaction was fraudulent. It wasn't! It was to renew my Last Pass account.
When I first received the alert, it comes up as Logmein*gotomypc.com. There is NO reference to LastPass.
Did I know or remember that LastPass is a Logmein product? NO! Why should I? LastPass is the only product that I really use and there is no way that I am going to remember from one year to the next either which umbrella it sits under.
Was I even aware that the product had anything to do gotomypc.com? Of course not!
"Work from home" scams are rife across the internet. Why on earth would a legitimate company want to look like a scam?
I check the website gotomypc.com and it comes up with a headline "Work FromHome Instantly" so in my mind, it looks like my card has been compromised.
As a result, my card gets canceled and I have to change ALL of my payment methods online. This is a real pain in the backside.
Not only that your company has been marked as trying to process a fraudulent payment which is not going to do your reputation any good either.
I STRONGLY recommend that you change this so that there is something that is recognisable i.e. REFER TO LASTPASS or whatever product the renewal is for.
