Why didn't LastPass notify clients credit cards would be auto charged to "logmein"?

This morning I saw a change on my credit card to a company named Logmein? I spent over an hour on my phone with my credit card company because this appeared to be a scam charge. After checking my invoice it only contains "LastPass." I just had my card compromised by someone who was using several "cute" names in April like "Pound" and had to get a new card. So I typed in logmein on google and that appears to be another company that has no association with LastPass. I searched both LastPass and Logmein and neither recognizes the other. Now I have no credit card for a week and I have to redo/redo all the autopayments cc that I spend several weeks in April changing. For a company that is supposed to be helping us with securing our logins, and the eagerness for everyone to use "autopayments" I would expect more care would be taken with their own invoices and charges. Thanks a lot LastPass or your alias logmein. 😒

I don't know what you were searching for, but LogMeIn (now GoTo) bought LastPass in 2015, and owned them until spinning the company off. That process concluded at the beginning of this month (May, 2024).

Because the INVOICE has LastPass as the vendor. There is no mention of logmein, ever, in any transactions with LastPass. Since my desktop and phone app both clearly are titled LastPass, why would I even suspect for a second that this invoice could be anything else but LastPass? You may have lots of time to have searched out logmein to determine that's the corporate name, for some reason, but they still really call themselves LastPass. I had to spend nearly 2 hours with Capital One this morning on the phone trying to resolve just one more fraudulent charge. In general I have little time to be suspicious of any valid corporate title. They were too lazy to bother to change the name of the corporation when preparing AN INVOICE. Since I've already had fraudulent charges on my CC last month, with similar kinds of stupid vendor names, it was the first thing I thought of, never having heard of logmein, which is a misleading, sounds like some kind of Chinese noodle soup, fake sounding company name. Finally, now I don't have a credit card for a week or more and I'll have to spend days changing all my automated cc charges to my accounts so they won't attempt to charge a card that no longer exists. It's time for them to sit down with the corporate board and decide what company name they want to be identified by. Is this software even reliable anymore if they can't figure out what to call their company? Who cares who bought who, take care of your customers and decide. I used to recommend Last Pass but not anymore, this is just sloppy management.

I also have a big complaint with this, having a security company using the name of a previous owner of the company for credit card purposes. I wasted time on this today having to track down what the hell was going on

This is NOT FIXED. I just had 'logmein' show up on my credit card statement for my LastPass service charge. I agree with the others here, for a security based company, this strains trust with your customers. Your customers are very security conscious and it borders on incredulity for LastPass to not correctly identify themselves on their own billing.

Please fix this immediately.
