Chrome Extension on Mac Not Working

I have been using Lastpass for 5-6 years and in the last year or so it has become almost unusable. It does not populate the username and password fields consistently. If i remove the extension from Chrome and readd, it works for a few days and then stops again. Chrome is up to date. Mac OS is up to date. Can someone please advise on I should do?
