Search functionality broken in Chrome plugin 4.107.1

The Chrome extension updated last night and is now, basically, unusable. If I try and use the quick search functionality is just returns the incorrect results. The "All relevant" option seems to only be searching a subset of my passwords

See the attached, even though I havethree password entries with "databricks" in them, searching for that term brings back just a single result ... and it isn't even a result that comes close to matching (I have left the resource un-blacked out)! Search in the vault works fine

I am a premium user and not really happy to be paying for something that allows such clearly broken code through their release process!

Hi@"joshberry", did you possibly add something manually to the vault? That will currently render the search functionality in the new extension toolbar menu unusable. We are releasing a fix this week for that.

If you'd like to disable it, you can do so in the "Advanced Options" menu of the extension vault and uncheck "Use improved save and fill".

@adgilcanthat's actually a different but similar issue, should also be resolved in 4.107.1. Could you please confirm which version of the extension you are running? Also, in your extension settings do you have the "Search within secure notes" option disabled under the Advanced section?

I have the same problem using Duck Duck Go on Chrome. Please see attached screenshot.

After Andrew735 disappeared and stopped helping, I did some more delving and came across another fault thread entitled "LastPass Chrome extension window is blank/white". This suggests removing the Lastpass app from Chrome, restarting the browser and then reinstalling the extension from this location:https://lastpass.com/misc_download.php.

It worked for me but it is a shame that the LogMein support is so patchy. I hope this helps others

I'm on 4.107.1

I think I have a different view of the problem. When opening the extension window from the LP icon, there are too many items listed. Used to be that passwords showed near the top and other, perhaps related, items down below. Perhaps we need more than All, Favorites or Recents tabs to help us with finding what we actually need at that moment, whether it a password or a payment method, or secure note - a dropdown perhaps of all the LP item types.

Hi@"joshberry"sounds like you have an "Identity" that is enabled and filtering your vault data to was is allowed for that specific identity. There were some issues around this fixed with 4.107.1. Have you tried reloading the vault page? Once you do, it should be filtering the same way as everything else. You can see your current identity in the user menu in the upper right hand side of the vault.

Woo! Uninstalling the extension, applying the pending chrome update, restarting, and re-installing the extension fixed the issue for me. Hope that works for the next person too. 🙂

EDIT: Nope, still not fixed. It worked for literally ~5 minutes and several logins, but the search is broken again. What a headache. Come on LastPass... plz don't push broken code to production! 🙂

Same problem here, the search functionality is completely broken for me. None of my named sites appear when entering partial strings like they should be after clicking on the LP extension icon in Chrome at the top right... I literally have to open my vault and use the search there which I am not going to get used to after 10+ years of using LastPass. I'll try re-installing the extension, hopefully that fixes the problem.

You are lucky you get at least one. I get none. Search in the Chrome plugin 4.107.1 does not find any matches. I can find them in the Vault, but then have to copy the user name and password, making the value of Lastpass zero.

The worst situation is saved credit card info is not accessible in the extension... have to copy and paste from the vault.

I did have a long list of incorrect search results in All Relevant hat never changed. I finally tried logging out and back into the extension and now I get an empty list there. Still no search results.

I am a premium member too, and am very disappointed. Seems like LP could find a way to notify of major changes in application/extension. I still can't figure out how to do somethings that I could easily do for years.

Well that didn't last long, less that a day of actually using the plugin (after reinstall) and it has broken again

@andrew735, do you have any other suggestions other that identities (which I do not have set up)? Alternatively, is there any way to install a previous version of the plugin and turn off updates until you fix it?

Probably is the answer to that question. I'll manage copy pasting from the vault and wait for the fix. Thanks for the update

I did not add anything manually to the vault, but am back to still having the problems. Also I do not have identities.

I did removed the check box in "Use improve Save and fill" and now have the old functionality back, so search now works again. Please let us know when the fix is ready as I assume we may need to recheck that option again.
