Getting logged off each time I close the browser window

Question

Why does the lastpass extension log me off every single time I close the browser? I do not have the setting "Log out when all browsers are closed" enabled, and I don't have the "Log out after this many minutes of inactivity" enabled either. Edge doesn't have the "delete cookies on exit" enabled.

I'm on Edge/Win11, and I use Yubikey or the LastPass authenticator. Each time I open the browser, Lastpass pops up with a new tab and prompts me for the yubikey. If I close the lastpass tab without logging in, it will pop open again in like 30 seconds, indefinitely. I had left a browser open for an extended time, and I think there were over 100 Lastpass login tabs opened. This can't be normal behavior, right?

I have the same issue. Though I am using brave browser. Yubikey is one of my MFA.

I have all the options such as "log out ..." disabled in the extension. I have brave set to not clear cache or cookies on close. I have tried the above steps of clearing extension cache and reinstalling plugin.

If I disable Yubikey the issue seems to go away. And it comes back the next time I close my browser any time I re-enable the Yubikey.

This is quite irritating in this case. Since you have ruled out auto-logout settings and Edge’s cookie deletion, you should try reinstalling the LastPass extension and clearing Edge’s cache. Also, check if LastPass has any updates or known issues with Edge. In my case, sometimes when I am building backlinks for my clients, a sudden window closure leads to a PC restart. This frustrates me greatly, as it causes the loss of ongoing work, resulting in delays and increased procrastination, ultimately affecting work deliveries.

I apologize for the huge inconvenience this is causing you. I have seen that this issue is mostly related to a high volume of cache, cookies, or a sync issue on LastPass. I will recommend following these steps:

Note: Before making any of these steps, please make sure you know your master password!

1. Clearthe LastPass cacheandrefresh sitesfrom the LastPass extension, log out

2. Proceed touninstall the LastPass extension, and clear cache and cookies (all time) on the browser

3. Close completely and reopen the browser,install the extension again, log back in, and verify if the issue persists.

I also recommend you to check the LastPass extension preferences and  also under Account Settings > General > Security, verify that the option "Auto log-off other devices" is not enable.
