Disabling Offline Access and Clearing Local Cache for LastPass Extension

Dear LastPass Support,

I have a concern regarding the offline access feature of the LastPass browser extension. I’ve noticed that when the local cache is cleared, I cannot access my data through the extension in offline mode, which is great for security. However, if the cache isn’t cleared, the data remains accessible even without entering the master password.

For security reasons, I would like to completely disable offline access or ensure that the local cache is automatically cleared, for example, upon shutting down my PC or closing the browser. This would help mitigate the risk of unauthorized access in case someone gains access to my computer.

Could you please let me know if there is a way to:

* Disable offline access entirely for the LastPass browser extension?
* Automatically clear the local cache whenever the browser is closed or the PC is shut down?

I would like to clarify that multifactor authentication is already enabled, and the "Permit offline access" option is disabled in my settings. However, even with these settings in place, if I disconnect my computer from the network and open my browser, I can still access the LastPass extension without any additional authentication requirements. What I want is for LastPass to enforce security even when the computer is offline. If the device is disconnected from the network, I should not be able to access my LastPass vault without going through an authentication process.

Welcome to the LastPass Community.

I don't recommend automatically clearing the browser's cache, as this is where LastPass keeps some user info in case you need to recover the password.

You may disable offline access through your online account settings by following these directions (but uncheck the 'allow' option within Settings).
